Equipment and luggage

Your luggage

For each tour, "what you carry" is given in the overview box. It can be :

• Your equipment for the day : you carry a light bag, your luggage is transfered by our logistics team.
• Your personal equipment : you carry the minimum votre sac contient le minimum essential equipment for your tour. There is no luggage transfer.  In case of a round trip itinerary, your bag will be lighter on this day.

 

Your equipment

Your equipment must be adapted to the specific environment, the activity you will be doing, the duration of your tour and the part of it you will have to carry (see Luggage).

You will find here an idea of the equipment you need to prepare for all our tours and the specific equipment for each activity (Hiking, Glacier trek, Mountaineering, Snowshoeing, Ski touring).

For all our tours

- Breathable baselayers (fast drying).
- A fleece jacket (windstopper if possible).

- A waterproof/breathable jacket (Gore-Tex).
- Trekking or mountain pants.
- Hiking shorts.
- A fleece hat.
- A cap or sun hat.
- Hiking socks.
- Sun glasses (minimum index 3, 4 for glacier trek, mountaineering and ski touring).
- A pair of gloves.
- A rain poncho.
- A water bottle (or camelback).
- A headlamp.

- A silk or coton slepping sheet (no sleeping bag).
- A comfortable hiking backpack (30 to 40 liters).
- A change of clothes.
- A pair of replacement shoe laces.
- Toilet paper.
- A pocket knife.
- A few plastic bags to protect your belongings.
- A sewing kit.
- A small pocket anti-theft protection device, to always keep on yourself, along with your identity papers, money, certificate of insurance.
- A light first-aid kit*
And for the tours where your luggage is transfered :
- A soft travel bag (10 kg maximum).
- A toiletry bag and a towel.
- Flip flops or slippers.
- Extra material for your first-aid kit*

* Your indiviudual first aid kit
- Pain reliever.
- A anti-diarrhoea pill.
- Anti-blister bandage, regular badage.
- An antiseptic.
- Sun screen and post-solar cream.
- Water purifying pills.
- Miscellaneous : eyedrops, mosquito repellent, tweezers, light slpeeping pill and/or ear plugs, personal treatment.
Your Mont Blanc Experience guide will also have a first-aid kit.

For hiking tours

- Light breathable hiking shoes with good soles.
- Telescopic hiking poles (optional but recommanded).


For glacier trek and et mountaineering

- An extra fleece jacket.
- Thermal tights.
- A second pair of gloves, warm and waterproof..
- A survival blanket.
- A water bottle (no camelback because of negative temperatures).
- Trekking shoes with rigid soles, on which you can adapt crampons.
- Warm and breathable trekking socks.
- Gaiters.
- Crampons with antibots.
- An ice axe

- A mountain helmet.
- An ajustable harness.
- A lockable carabiner.
- Telescopic hiking poles are highly recommanded.

For Snowshoeing

- An extra fleece jacket.
- Thermal tights.
- Waterproof/breathable pants (Gore-tex) or ski pants.
- A second pair of gloves, warm and waterproof..
- A survival blanket.
- A water bottle (no camelback because of negative temperatures).
- Warm/waterproof/breathable trekking shoes that can be fixed on showshoes..
- Warm and breathable trekking socks.
- Gaiters.
- Solid and light snwoshoes, adapted to your shoes, with crampons underneath.
- Telescopic hiking poles.
- A tranceiver, a snow shovel and a snow probe.
- A spoon and a Tupperware for the pic-nics.
- A thermos bottle (recommanded).

For Ski touring

- An extra fleece jacket.
- Thermal tights.
- Waterproof/breathable pants (Gore-tex) or ski pants.
- A second pair of gloves, warm and waterproof..
- A survival blanket.
- A water bottle (no camelback because of negative temperatures).
- Warm and breathable trekking socks.
- Gaiters.
- A pair of light ski touring skis, with specific bindings and straps or stop skis.
- A pair of light ski touring skiing boots with walking soles. If you rent them, try them before and protect your feet against blisters.
- A pair of ski touring skins, recently glued.
- A pair of skiing poles.
- Skitouring crampons.
- A tranceiver, a snow shovel and a snow probe.
- A harness and a pair of crampons for the technical or glacial tours.
- A thermos bottle (recommanded).
