Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau: three peaks over 4000 meters that have given Oberland its reputation. This "land of above" (in german) is a huge glacial range, larger than the Mont Blanc and Mont Rose together! The nice villages, from Grindelwald to Mürren, and the green pastures add to this typical Swiss Alps landscape. This hike along the north side of the range leads to great panoramas by easy balcony trails.

Itinerary
D 1/ Interlaken - Schynige Platte - Weber hut
Meeting at the train station in Interlaken-Ost (East).
Cog railway to Schynige Platte (1 980 m) where we can already enjoy the beauty of Oberland and Mittelland. Warm up to the Weber hut (2 344 m), for a typical evening. The hiking guide will present the tour, the equipment and the main orienteering and security techniques. Diner and night in the hut.
2 h 30 hike. A: 400 m.
D 2/ Weber hut - Faulhorn - Bachsee - Fist - Grindelwald - Alpiglen
Hike up to the Faulhorn overlook (2 680 m), then to Bach lake. These sites will delight the photographers with its amazing view on the highest and most renown peaks of Oberland. We reach Grindelwald by cable car and trail. Hike up to the bottom of Eiger before reaching Alpiglen (1 620 m). Diner and night in a hostel.
6 h hike. A: 1000 m. D: 1200 m.
D 3/ Alpiglen - Kleine Scheidegg - Mürren
We cross the Kleine Scheidegg pass (2 061 m) and enjoy an incredible view on the Eiger's north face. Long hike down to the cable car that carries us to Mürren (1 650 m), carless village, on a narrow plateau. Diner and night in a hostel.
5 h 30 hike. A: 600 m. D: 1100 m.
D 4/ Mürren - Sefinenfurke - Griesalp
Through spelndid traditionnal valleys, we reach the "pas de Sefinenfurke" (2 612 m), a gap in the rocky ridge where the panorama is once more beautiful. We then get to the village of Griesalp (1 350 m), in the Kiental, through meadows and forests.
6 h hike. A: 800 m. D: 1300 m.
D 5/ Griesalp - Hortürli pass - Blüemlisalp - Oeschinensee
Hike up one of the greatest valleys of Oberland to reach Hortürli pass (2 750 m). We walk along the Blüemlisalp glacier to get to Oeschinensee above Kandersteg, former path for peddlers and smugglers. Diner and night in a hostel.
7 h hike. A: 1400 m. D: 1100 m.
D 6/ Oeschinensee - Chindbetti pass - Engstligenalp
A cable car carries us up to Spittelmatte at the broder of Oberland and Valais. We accross the Chindbetti pass (2 691 m) and the Rote Chumme pas to reach the Engstligenalp pastures, where bells hang on the cabins' beams. Diner and night in a hostel.
6 h hike. A: 1400 m. D: 700 m.
D 7/ Engstligenalp - Adelboden - Interlaken
Peacefull hike down to the beautiful Engstligen waterfalls. We reach the small town of Adelboden, nice Oberland resort, end of our tour. Transfer back to Interlaken, our starting point.
3 h hike. D: 600 m.
