Monte Rosa (4634 m) is the second highest peak in the Alps. During six days, we will climb six summits over 4000 meters high, between Valais (Swizerland) and Val d'Aoste (Italy). We will spend a night in the highest mountain hut in the Alps, at 4554 meters! This tour adresses passionate mountaineers who want to experience a great journey in altitude, surrounded by amazing panoramas.

D 1/ Zermatt - Trockener Steg - Teodulo hut

Meeting at Zermatt train station.
Cable car to Trockener Steg (2 939 m) and warm up hike to Teodulo hut (3 317 m).
The guide will present the program, equipment and techniques for everyone's security. Diner and night in the hut.

D 2/ Teodulo hut - Breithorn - Guides d'Ayas hut

Early start on the huge glacial plateau of Breithornpass (3 820 m) to climb the west summit of the namesake peak (4 164 m), then hike down to the Guides d'Ayas hut
(3 400 m) where we spend the night.

hike - A: 750 m - D: 650 m.

D 3/
Guides d'Ayas hut - Pollux and Castor - Quintino Sella hut

Hike up under Pollux to climb the west face of Castor and reach its top (4 228 m) along a short and thin ridge. Hike down on Quintino Sella hut (3 585 m).
6 h hike - A: 750 m - D: 650 m.

D 4/ Quintino Sella hut - Nazo del Lyskamm - Pyramide Vincent - Citta di Montova hut

Crossing a large glacial plateau, we reach the "Lyskamm nose", key path on our itinerary, with sometimes a little ice. We go on to the Vincent Pyramide (4 215 m), an easy 4000 meters high peak. Hike down to Montova hut (3 498 m), kept by three local guides.

hike - A: 1000 m - D: 900 m.

D 5/ Gnifetti hut - Corno Nero - Ludwigshöhe - Parrotspitze - Signalkuppe - Margarita hut

We climb two Monte Rosa subsummmits : Corno Nero (4321 m) and Ludwigshöhe (4 341 m). Passing by the Parrotspitze's ridge (4 432 m), we reach the Signalkuppe (4 554 m) where stands the famous Margarita hut, the highest hut in the Alps (4 554 m), where we spend the night.

hike - A: 1200 m - D: 250 m.

D 6/ Margaritahut - Zumsteinspitze - Gornergrat - Zermatt

Last day over 4000 meters. We climb the easy Zumsteinspitze (4 563 m) under the "pointe Dufour" (4 633 m), the highest of Monte Rosa, second summit in the Alps. From the top, we hike down the Grenz glacier, on the Swiss side of the mountain, to take the
Gornergrat cog train back to Zermatt.
7 h hike. A: 200 m - D: 1900 m.
