Itinerary
At your arrival, Markus will suggest you some hikes depending on your level and your interest. He knows the area very well and will give you all you need to organize your days.
For your information, here is a possible program for level 2:
Meeting in Breiten (Mörel). You can settle in your room in the afternoon (3 PM). You can take a walk to the village of Ried-Mörel (1189 m) to see the nice Swiss logcabins. Back to the hotel to enjoy a first spa session: pool, thermal bath, allaccessible with the elevator. Diner in a closeby restaurant.
D 1/ Breiten - Ried-Mörel - Breiten
2 h hike. A and D: 250 m.
D 2/ Breiten - Niederwald - Breiten
The day starts with the famous Swiss train of Furka-Oberwald that links the Rhone's sources to the village of Zermatt. Hike in the closeby Conche valley to discover the authentic Swiss villages from Blitzingen to Niederwald. Back by train to your starting point.
3 h hike. A and D: 250 m.
Short hike down to Mörel, and cable car up to Riederalp (1925 m) for a hike towards Moosfluh (2335 m). This impressiove overlook on the Aletsch glacier offers a great hike overlooking the longest glacier in Europe. Walk in the forest facing the tallest peaks of Oberland. Hiek down on the hotel.
D 3/ Breiten - Riederalp - Mossfluh - Breiten
4 h hike. A and D: 350 m.
DIscovery day around Ernen. This gorgeous village was isolated for long and offers a atmosphere of some other time. After a tour of the village, hike up in the forest to the pastures above Ausserbin. You reach the Frid pasture from where your overlook the narrow glens of Binn. Back to the village on a nice forest trail. Transfer back to Breiten.
D 4/ Breiten - Ernen - Alpe Frid - Breiten
4 h hike. A and D: 550 m.
D 5/ Breiten - Münster - Breiten
Back in the Conche valley to explore the upper valley an the villages of Münster, Biel, and other little hamlets on the bank of the Rhone, here a small river that comes from the peaks above.
3 h hike. A and D: 250 m.
D 6/ Breiten - Massa gorges - Breiten
Cabel carto Ried-Mörel. Traverse along a small canal above the Massa gorges, glacial river. Back to the hotel and end of the tour.
5 h hike. A and D: 400 m.
NB : In this self-guided tour, you are responsible of your itinerary. You must know how to read a map and use a compass. The road book that we give you will help you on your way. Your host is also available to help you choose the best hikes for you.
