Itinerary
D 1/ Chamonix – Courmayeur
Meeting at 10:30 am at Chamonix train station. Taxi to Courmayeur. We settle down in a hotel in the village, Italian capitale of Mont Blanc. Warm up ski tour. The guide will present the program, equipment and techniques for everyone's security.
D 2/ Backcountry skiing around Courmayeur
We use the cable cars to reach the ridges and little peaks around courmayeur and ski in the wild and remote canyons. Short uphills. Tranceiver exercises.
Back to the village at the end of the day.
D 3/ Courmayeur – Arpy lake (2060m) – Pointe de la Croix ( 2478m)
Short transfer to the hamlet of Arpy. Nice uphill to Arpy lake. From the lake we head towards the Croix pass and fork off just before the pass to reach the pointe de la Croix. Depending on the snow conditions, we will come back by the same way or cross along to the village of la Thuile. Back to Courmayeur.
A and D: 800 m
D 4/ Courmayeur – Val Ferret – Skitour around Testa Bernarda (2534 m)
Today, you will admire the amazing panorama ont the south side of Mont Blanc from the balconies of Val Ferret. From Courmayeur or the Lavachey, depending on the snow conditions and the group, your guide will lead you towards theTesta Bernarda. For the view more than the summit…
A and D: 850 m
D 5/ Courmayeur - Helbronner (3462 m) - Tacul glacier - Requin hut (2516 m)
We leave the Italian valley to reach Helbronner by the cable car. Courmayeur is 2000 meters below, the glaciers all around and the Tacul and Dent du Geant so close! We slide down on the glacier, at the foot of the granite peaks. We bpass carefully by the huge seracs and crevasses before reaching the Requin hut where we spend the night.
A: 150 m. D: 1000 m
D 6/ Mer de Glace - Chamonix
We cross the Mer de Glace and each of you leads the group to the Leschaux hut where the view on the Grandes Jorasses is breathtaking. We slide down to the Montenvers and if it possible, down to Chamonix. If there isn't enough snow, we take the Montenvers train to the valley. End of the tour around 4 pm at Chamonix train station.
A: 150 m. D: 800 or 1300 m.
NB: The learning program is established according to your wishes. The main security techniques will be tought and you can ask for more or less to your guide on the first evening and along the tour.
In order to ensure the group's security, this program can be modified by the guide according to to weather and snow conditions and the level of the group.
