Ski touring Swizerland

This ski tour offers the opportunity to experience a great itinerary: 3 peaks over 4000 meters high! The Himalaya-looking mountains of the Swizerland stand beautifully around each of our stages. Through Aphubel and Adler pass; over 3700 meters, we go from Zermatt valley to Saas Fee valley, two renown resorts-villages in the Alps and come back, climbing Monte Rosa on our way!

Itinerary

D 1/ Täsch - Täsch hut

Meeting in the morning at the train station in Täsch. From Mattertal, the Zermatt valley, we climb up in the forest to the Ottavan pastures (2214 m). We then ski to Täsch hut (2701 m). The guide will present the program, equipment and techniques for everyone's security. Diner and night in the hut.
4 h ski. A: 1250 m.

D 2/ Täsch hut - Alphubel - Langflue hut

We ski along the red ridges heading towards the Alphubel pass (3782 m) from which we overlook the Saas Fee valley, and we go on to the top of Alphubel (4206 m). Downhill on the Fee glacier and on the slopes of Saas Fee resort to reach Langflue hut (2870 m). Diner and night in the hut.
6 h ski. A: 1500 m. D: 1350 m.

D 3/ Langflue hut - Allalinhorn - Britannia hut

We ski on the Fee glacier again today and head towards the summit of Allalinhorn (4027 m), second easy 4000er of our tour. Descent and traverse to Britannia hut (3030 m). Diner and night in the hut.
5 h ski. A: 1160 m. D: 1000 m.

 

D 4/ Britannia hut - Adler pass - Zermatt (1600 m)

We leave the Allalin glacier to get to the Adler pass (3789 m). We slide down to Zermatt throough Adler and Findel glaciers and the nice villages of Eggen and Findeln. (In case of a lack of snow, we can take a cable car down to the valley to avoid carrying the skis.) We settle down in a hostel in Zermatt for diner and night.
5 h ski. A: 750 m. A: 2100 m. (depending on the snow conditions)

D 5/ Zermatt - Furggsattel - Monte Rosa hut

We take the Furgsattel cable car at the opening to reach easily the Theodul glacier. Traverse towards the Rosa plateau and downhill off piste under the Breithorn (4159 m) to reach the Gorner glacier at 2500 meters. We then ski up to Monte Rosa hut (2795 m). Diner and night in the hut.
4 h ski. D: 1000 m. A: 250 m.

D 6/ Monte Rosa hut - Signalkuppe - Zermatt - Täsch

Amazing last day! Ski up Signalkuppe (4554 m), one of the Monte Rosa peaks where stands the Margarita hut, facing the Dufour peak (4618 m) and the Nordend (4609 m). Beautiful and long downhill to Zermatt (1600 m). Depending on the snow conditions, a cable car can be used to avoid carrying the skis. Transfer to our start point by train in the afternoon.
8 h ski. A: 1800 m. D: 3000 m. (depending on the snow conditions)
