This itinerary in the Dolomites is dedicated to vertical height, with easy via ferrata. From Cortina d'Ampezzo, world's capitale for via ferrata, an itinerary through the most beautiful routes in and around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo range, mythical peaks of the Dolomites.

Itinerary

D 1/ Cortina d'Ampezzo - Tre Croci pass - Via Marino Bianchi - Lorenzi hut

Meeting at the train station in Cortina d'Ampezzo early afternoon. Transfer to Tre Croci pass (1809 m), hike up to San Forca hut (2 215 m) where we take the cable car to Lorenzi hut (2918 m). Once settled and our bag lighten, we start via Marino Bianchi towards cima di Mezzo (3 154 m) facing the Sorapis range. It starts on the hut's terrace and puts us right ahead in an incredible atmosphere with the steep cliffs and the beautiful panorama! Back to the hut, the guide will present the program, equipment and techniques for everyone's security. diner and night in the hut.

D 2/ Lorenzi hut - Via Ivano Dibona - Tre Croci pass - Vandelli hut

Spectacular start with the hanging footbridge on via Ivano Dibona. Pretty exposed! A series of gaps and blocks and a scree corridor lead us to Val Padeon. We reach the valley and the Tre Croci pass where we grab clean clothe. Traverse to Vandelli hut (1 928 m) where we spend the night in the heart of the Dolomites of Sorapis-Marmarole.

D 3/ Vandelli hut - Via Berti - Ponte Alberi - Lavaredo hut (2344 m)

After the ascent of Forca Cengia di Banco (2 466 m), we take the via Berti under the Punta Sorapis (3 141 m). Great atmosphere on the ledges in the Croda Marcora face. We leave the rocky cliffs to enter the peaceful forests. Hike down to Ponte Alberi where a local bus transfers us to the bottom of Sesto range. We leave the crowded Auronzo hut to quickly get to the Lavaredo hut (2 330 m).

D 4/ Lavaredo hut - Lavaredo pass - Torre di Toblin - Via delle Scalette - Locatelli hut

We cross the Lavaredo pass on the wide trail under the Paterno to reach Locatelli hut. We pass above the Plans lakes to get to the Torre di Toblin (2 617 m), testimony from the past. The numerous tunnels were dug a hundred years ago by soldiers who were serving at the border. The via delle Scalette has 17 scales to reach the top and admire the extraordinary panorama on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Hike down to Locatelli hut, one of the oldest in the Dolomites, it was built in 1883.

hike + via ferrata. A: 400 m. D: 200 m.

D 5/ Locatelli hut - Paterno - Bonacossa trail - Fonda Savio hut (2367 m)

Via ferrata Luca - Innerkofler that leads to the top of Paterno (2 746 m). Playful way up using headlamps in the tunnels and scramblings along the cables. Back to Lavaredo hut ont the Forcelle trail. We then use the nice Bonacossa path, an easy via ferrata that leads us to Fonda Savio hut. Last sunset on the south face of the Tre Cime, mythical landscape of the Dolomites.

hike + via ferrata. A: 250 m. D: 350 m.

D 6/ Fonda Savio hut - Bonacossa trail - Cortina d’Ampezzo

From the hut we go on on the Bonacossa path to go down progressively to Varda pass. Hike down the road to Misurina lake where we take a break before taking the bus to Tre Croci pass then to Cortina d'Ampezzo. End of the tour early afternoon.
