Hiking : a relatively accessible activity, hiking offers the opportunity to explore a country or a region up close, on foot, and to meet and mingle with the locals. On a traverse or loop, whatever your skill level, embark on one of our through-hikes to immerse yourself in the natural wonders of the great outdoors.
Level 2: An average of 4 to 5 hours of hiking per day on a well-marked hilly path or trail.

Your journey also includes time to explore the enchanting coastal towns of Portovenere and Portofino. Levanto is a charming seaside town set on a wide, sheltered bay, framed to the east by the dramatic Mesco headland.
After checking in at your hotel, take time to explore the relaxed historic centre, with its narrow streets, small squares, and local cafés. Alternatively, head to the sandy beach for a first taste of the Ligurian coast and enjoy a spectacular sunset over the sea.
Day 2
Levanto - Monterosso - Vernazza
Distance : 13 km (8 mi) -

From your hotel, walk down to the beach before beginning the steady ascent towards Punta Mesco. This section of the trail rewards you with beautiful coastal views, and once you reach the pass, the full panorama of the Cinque Terre villages opens up ahead-many of which you will explore over the coming days. Continue on to Monterosso, where you can take time to wander through the village before heading on to Vernazza. The path includes some steeper sections, but the sea views along the way are truly exceptional. Your arrival above Vernazza is one of the highlights of the Cinque Terre, offering a breathtaking perspective over the village and its dramatic setting. Known for its picturesque harbour and colourful houses, Vernazza is often considered the most charming of the five villages.

Corniglia - Manarola - Riomaggiore

In the heart of the Cinque Terre, you will discover the villages of Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore, each with its own distinct character.
Corniglia stands apart from the other Cinque Terre villages thanks to its rural atmosphere and its unique setting. Unlike the coastal villages, it is perched on a steep promontory about 100 metres above sea level, with rows of houses rising above the terraced hillsides rather than sitting at the water's edge. From this elevated viewpoint, you may enjoy sweeping views over the sea and, on clear days, even spot dolphins offshore, along with the neighbouring villages of the Cinque Terre. Continue on to Manarola, one of the most picturesque and romantic villages in the region. Built on a dramatic rock formation around 70 metres above the sea, it is known for its colourful houses overlooking the water and its small harbour, complete with a boat ramp and tiny piazza. Your journey ends in Riomaggiore, the easternmost village of the Cinque Terre. It is famously linked to Manarola by the scenic Via dell'Amore ("Path of Love"), known for its romantic atmosphere and spectacular coastal views.

Today, you will experience the elegance of Portofino, an exclusive seaside village located about an hour from the Cinque Terre. This jewel of the Italian Riviera rose to fame in the 1950s and quickly became a favourite retreat for artists, celebrities, and the international jet set.
Depending on your chosen itinerary, you may also discover the remarkable Abbey of San Fruttuoso, set in a secluded cove of turquoise water and accessible only on foot or by boat. The walk follows a beautiful coastal path with sweeping sea views, shaded sections beneath maritime pines, and the scent of Mediterranean vegetation along the way. Enjoy walking along a beautiful balcony trail with wonderful views, shade among the local pines, and other flowery sights and smells.

your journey out of the Cinque Terre. Today's destination is Portovenere, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the true highlights of the Ligurian coast. Clinging to the hillside, its colourful houses lead up towards the striking black-and-white striped Church of San Pietro. From here, you can enjoy sweeping sea views and look out towards the cave where Lord Byron is said to have drawn inspiration for some of his poetry.
The route from Riomaggiore is a full and rewarding day on foot. The ascent towards Campiglia is steep in sections, followed by a sometimes challenging descent, but the scenery throughout is outstanding. For those preferring a less demanding option, an alternative is available: a walk around the island of Palmaria, just off the coast of Portovenere. To conclude your journey in the best possible way, return to Levanto by boat. From the sea, the Cinque Terre villages reveal themselves from a completely different perspective, with truly breathtaking views along the coastline.

After breakfast, your journey comes to an end. This morning, you have the choice between a final walk through the surrounding hills or a more relaxed discovery of Levanto. The walk offers a last opportunity to explore the colourful villages of the valley and the terraced landscapes around Levanto, shaped over centuries by the hard work of local communities. Alternatively, you may prefer to spend the morning at leisure, discovering Levanto at your own pace.
The active times are given as an indication and may vary depending on several elements (eg. weather conditions, terrain, etc.). Transfer times may also vary depending on road and traffic conditions. If necessary (eg: weather conditions, decision of local authorities, etc.), we may also be required to adapt the program for the smooth running of your trip and in the interest of the participants.
