Hiking : a relatively accessible activity, hiking offers the opportunity to explore a country or a region up close, on foot, and to meet and mingle with the locals. On a traverse or loop, whatever your skill level, embark on one of our through-hikes to immerse yourself in the natural wonders of the great outdoors.
Level 2: An average of 4 to 5 hours of hiking per day on a well-marked hilly path or trail.
Level 3: An average of 4 to 5 hours of hiking per day on well-marked trails and/or 600 to 800 meters of vertical gain, and/or distances up to 15 kilometers.Level 4: An average of 6 hours of hiking per day on well-marked trails or off trail, and/or 700 to 1000 meters of vertical gain, and/or distances of 15 to 18 kilometers.

A few days' getaway under the Mediterranean sun! Wild landscapes with hikes in the heart of the Calanques of Cassis, including Port Pin, Port Miou, and En-Vau, with their beaches surrounded by white cliffs. From La Ciotat, a popular seaside town, you will explore Cap Canaille, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, before heading to Cassis. The itinerary includes discovering Marseille and its iconic neighborhoods through a unique coastal walk.

Welcome to Cassis. This charming harbor town is lively and beautifully set around its bay. If you arrive early enough, you'll enjoy strolling through the village's many alleys, sipping a drink at the harbor, or taking a warm-up walk to discover Cassis and its peninsula, which we recommend. Check-in at the three stars hotel in Cassis for a 4-night stay.
Day 2
The Calanques of En-Vau, Port Pin, and Port-Miou

A beautiful day of hiking in the Calanques on a loop trail starting from Cassis. The route begins in the Gardiole Forest, leading to the eponymous Col, and then continues towards the Calanque of En-Vau. This beach, bordered by white cliffs, is the perfect spot for a swim or a picnic. The next Calanque will be Port Pin, which is more intimate, while Port Miou is a very deep and charming Calanque, with its many sailboats lined up in a row.
The end of the route takes you through the small streets of the cape, all the way to the heart of Cassis.

Day 3
Cliffs of Cap Canaille and the city of La Ciotat
Ascent : +500m. Descent : -500m.

After breakfast, transfer by bus or taxi to La Ciotat. First discover the small city, maybe its provençal market, its botanical garden or the Eden Theater, the oldest cinema in the world. After that, it is time to reach Cap Canaille. At a height of 394 meters, it offers one of the most impressive panoramas in the region, with breathtaking views of the calanques and Cassis. A protected massif, the cliffs of this mountain are the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
Day 4
A scenic day in Marseille

Transfer by bus or train to Marseille. We'll suggest a scenic itinerary along the coast with views of the Frioul Islands, including some beautiful and popular local spots like Vallon des Auffes, Anse de Malmousque, and the viewpoint at Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. We'll also offer an alternative route to explore the Panier district, the Mucem museum, the Old Port... and more.

Good-bye Provence

Your trip officially ends after breakfast.
Before you leave, why not take advantage of activities around the city: sea kayaking in the calanques, visits to vineyards, e-biking...
And the most unmissable of them all, a boat trip in the calanques, with options to visit 3, 5, or 8 calanques depending on how much time you have.
If you wish to arrive earlier or extend your stay, it's essential to book your accommodation in advance. We can arrange one or more extra nights at one of our partner hotels. Just ask!
