Level 5: An average of more than 6 hours of hiking per day off trail or on rugged terrain, with more than 1000 meters of vertical gain (and/or distances up to 20 kilometers). Possibly sections at high altitude.
Level 6: An average of more than 7 to 8 hours of strenuous hiking per day off trail or on rugged terrain, with more than 1000 meters of vertical gain and/or distances up to 20 kilometers. Possibly sections at high altitude.

Hike through the mountainous countryside near the Italian border, in the hinterland of Nice, to the splendid town of Menton, on the famous Côte d'Azur. The route offers superb paths and breathtaking panoramas through dense forests, narrow valleys, and picturesque gorges, punctuated by historic villages perched on mountainsides. Immerse yourself in Franco-Italian culture and history, shaped by alternating periods of domination. Discover the medieval towns of Tende and La Brigue, Breil, and Sospel with their Baroque churches before arriving at Saint-Agnès, a belvedere overlooking the azure Mediterranean. In Menton, discover the colorful facades of the houses in the heart of the old town, the small fishing port, the covered market, and the exhilarating spectacle of the Côte d'Azur.

Pricing
The price includes / does not include
The price includes:
— 7 nights in a double room at hotels and guest houses,
— 5 dinners from day 1 to day 5.
— A guidebook in English and 2 IGN maps sent to the first hotel (one information pack for 2 to 4 people).
— An active digital off line application with GPS Tracks and geo located photos.
— The occupancy tax (‘taxes de séjour‘).
— If you choose the luggage tranfers option: Baggage transfers as specified.
The price does not include:
— Transportation to Saint-Dalmas-de-Tende and return travel from Menton.
— The extra fees for a single bedroom.
— Insurance for trip cancellation/interruption, lost/stolen baggage, or assistance.
— For reservations made less than 15 days before the start, all additional fees for priority processing.
— Anything that is not specified in the "included in the price" list.
— An additional information pack sent to the first hotel (€60).
Other expenses:
— Picnics.
— Dinners on days 6 and 7.
— Drinks, personal expenses, and the cost of visits not included in your program.
— The short train transfer of Day2 (about €2.50).
— The bus tickets on Days 6 and 7 (about €2 each).

Currencies
Better to have cash in the most remote areas to purchase extras (ex.: for drinks). Huts do not always accept credit cards.
