France's second-largest wine-growing region, the Rhône Valley offers a countryside carpeted with vines and dotted with picturesque villages. This cycling tour takes in the small country roads, the most famous vineyards of the Côtes-Du-Rhône (Beaumes-de-Venise, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Sablet, Châteauneuf-du-pape...), which blossom on sunny hillsides at the foot of the amazing Dentelles de Montmirail, with Mont Ventoux as a backdrop. The route starts in Avignon, the City of the Popes, and ends in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the "Venice of Provence", with its many canals and alleyways populated by the antique dealers and second-hand goods dealers for whom it is famous. A tour combining the characteristic landscapes, flavours and art of living of Provence.
