touring (or backcountry ski touring) combines the fun of downhill skiing with
the rewarding effort of hiking. Whether on your first tour, skiing
high-altitude peak, or skinning across a glacier, the excursions we organize
provide everyone the chance to discover this strenuous yet exhilarating winter
sport.
Level 2: An average of 4 to 5 hours of ski touring per day and/or 400 to 800 meters of vertical gain. For good skiers wanting to learn and progress in backcountry skiing. Wide, regular and not very steep slopes.
Level 3: An average of 5 to 6 hours of ski touring per day and/or 500 to 1000 meters of vertical gain. For good skiers
in all snow conditions with a first back-country skiing experience,
skiing with a 6 to 8 kg backpack. Some technical passages on slopes
sometimes exceeding 30 °.
Level 4: An average of 6 to 7 hours of ski touring per day and/or 800 to 1300 meters of vertical gain. For very good skiers
in all snow conditions with a frequent back-country skiing experience,
skiing with a 8 to 12 kg backpack. Some technical passages on slopes
sometimes exceeding 35 °.
Level 5: An average of 6 to 8 hours of ski touring per day and/or 1000 to 1500 meters of vertical gain. For very good skiers
in all snow conditions on difficult slopes with a frequent back-country and glacier skiing experience,
skiing with a 8 to 12 kg backpack. Some technical passages on slopes
sometimes exceeding 35 °.
Level 6: An average of 6 to 8 hours of ski touring per day and/or 1000 to 1800 meters of vertical gain. For very good skiers
in all snow conditions on difficult slopes with a frequent back-country and glacier skiing experience,
skiing with a 8 to 12 kg backpack. Require the basics of mountaineering. Some technical and vertigo inducing passages on slopes
sometimes exceeding 40 °.

Prices indicated are calculated based on a limited number of seats available or for a departure in over 2 months from today. Once all prereserved seats are filled, or for reservations with a departure in less than 2 months, we might have to acquire seats for a higher price (depending on availability at the moment the reservation is made), which might result in the application of a supplement that increases the closer we are to the departure date.

Day by day
Day 1
Welcome in Chamonix !
Lodging : hotel.
Arrive in Chamonix, a very typical and historical town in the Alps. Settle into your comfortable hotel, stroll through Chamonix's quaint cobblestone streets, and relax before embarking on what will be a truly amazing adventures.
Day 2
Group meeting - Chamonix to Argentière hut
Ascent : 850 m (2,789 ft). Descent : 150 m (492 ft)
Lodging : mountain hut. Included meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Meeting with your guide
at 9.00 am at your hotel. There will be a chance for the guide
to check out your clothing and gear. You can hire or buy
any missing item in a Chamonix mountain store.
Transfer to Argentière where you'll reach the other participants of the group.
In the morning take the upper tram to the top of the Grands Montets ski field. Take the Plan Joran gondola. From the top of the gondola enjoy the short groomed run to Lognan, where we will put skins on our skis and start the day's ascent to the Argentière Hut via the glacier. Your guide will review the week's program with you, the gear, as well as the basic winter skiing, orienteering, and safety techniques needed for the traverse.
Transfer to Argentière where you'll reach the other participants of the group.

Day 3
From Argentière hut to Champex via Passon pass, Tour pass and Ecandies pass
Ascent : 900 m (2,953 ft). Descent : 2000 m (6,562 ft)

A magnificent stage in which we first climb the Col du Passon (3,028m / 9,935 ft) via a steep couloir to reach the Glacier du Tour. A beautiful and vast glacial traverse to the Col du Tour (3,28m / 10,767 ft) before crossing into Switzerland, onto the immense Trient plateau. We cross over to the Col des Ecandies (2,796m / 9,173 ft) before descending to the Val d'Arpette and Champex.
Day 4
From Champex to Prafleuri hut via Col des Gentianes pass and Col de Momin pass
Ascent : 850 m (2,789 ft). Descent : 950 m (3,117 ft)

Transfer by vehicle to Châble, located at the base of the Verbier ski area. From there, a series of lifts takes us to Col des Gentianes Pass. We will officially exit the ski area at Col de la Chaux Pass (2,940m / 9,645 ft). A short descent and then ascent to Col de Momin Pass leads to the "Grand Désert" Glacier. The group will have the option of climbing Rosablanche Peak (3,336m / 10,945 ft), one of the area's classic summits. Enjoy skiing down the Prafleuri Glacier on the day's final descent to the hut of the same name.
Day 5
From Prafleuri hut to Dix hut via Col des Roux pass
Ascent : 750 m (2,460 ft). Descent : 450 m (1,476 ft)

The day starts by skinning to Col des Roux Pass, just above the hut. Enjoy a short descent to
Lake Dix, and then traverse along the lake to Pas du Chat (2,385m / 7,825 ft). From there
a gradual ascent leads to the Dix Hut (2,928m / 9,606 ft).
Day 6
From Dix hut to Vignettes hut via the Pigne d'Arolla
Ascent : 850 m (2,789 ft). Descent : 700 m (2,296 ft)

Back to the north side of Mont-Blanc de Cheillon, where the glacial terrain leads us to the Serpentine pass. We take advantage of this to climb the Pigne d'Arolla (3 796m / 12,454 ft), a superb belvedere offering 360° panoramic views of the Valais peaks. The final descent takes us to the Cabane des Vignettes, one of Switzerland's most famous refuges.
Day 7
From Vignettes hut to Zermatt via L'Eveque, Brulé and Valpelline passes
Ascent : 1150 m (3,773 ft). Descent : 2450 m (8,038 ft)

This long and amazing day among some of the Alps' most spectacular glaciers starts with a climb to Col de l'Evêque Pass (3,379m /11,085 ft), followed by Col du Mont Brûlé Pass, which finishes on foot. Ascend the Haut Tsa de Tsan Glacier to Col de Valpelline Pass, where the Matterhorn comes fully into view. Enjoy the long descent to Zermatt, skiing beneath the mighty north face of the Matterhorn. We will slowly but surely glide back into civilization: first a few chalets and small hamlets, a precursor of our final arrival in the resort-village of Zermatt where you'll say good-bye to your guide and the others participants.
Please note: to ensure everyone's safety, this program serves only as an indication of your day-to-day tours, and may be modified by the guide based on the level of the group and the weather conditions.
If you wish to arrive earlier or extend your stay, it's essential to
book your accommodation in advance. We can arrange one or more extra nights at
one of our partner hotels. Just ask !
The active times are given as an indication and may vary depending on several elements (eg. weather conditions, terrain, etc.). Transfer times may also vary depending on road and traffic conditions. If necessary (eg: weather conditions, decision of local authorities, etc.), we may also be required to adapt the program for the smooth running of your trip and in the interest of the participants.

The prices does not include:
- Transportation to the meeting point at the start of the trip and from the point where the trip officially ends.
- Dinner on day 1 in Chamonix.
- Bottled water in the mountain huts (6 to 12 CHF per 1,5 L).
- Drinks, tips, and personal expenses.
- Showers in any huts that charge a fee.
- Insurance for trip cancellation/interruption, lost/stolen baggage, or assistance.
- Everything not described as "included".
